Agents for American Depositary Receipt (ADR) issues impose a custodial fee on holders, collected by the ADR agent.
The usual practice is for the ADR agent to deduct the custodial fee from the gross dividend payable to ADR holders.
These ADR fees are in turn deducted from dividends due to clients, or a debit advice is sent to clients seeking payment. The rate applied is approximately USD 0.02 per ADR.
ADR custodial fees are imposed by DTC and are irrevocable and not subject to waiver.
