e-Payment is a service offered by UOB Kay Hian (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“UOBKH”) to its trading Clients which allows UOBKH to credit payment electronically to its client’s designated bank account. e-Payment include all sale proceeds, contra gains, credit withdrawal and any sum standing to credit in the client’s account. This is an optional service provided to UOBKH’s Client. Therefore we strongly encourage all of our valued Clients to sign up for this e-Payment service.
Signing up for the e-Payment service offers the following benefits:
The e-Payment service is available only to individual and corporate trading clients with sale proceeds denominated in MYR. It is not available to Margin Clients, Collateralised Clients, Institutional Clients, or contracts settled in foreign currency.
e-Payment is a complimentary service offered to UOBKH clients at no additional fee or charge.
Any existing active savings or current account held in the client's name may be assigned, or a joint account on which the client is named as one of the accountholders. Joint bank accounts are permitted but not encouraged; the trading client must be the primary holder of the joint account to avoid payment failure.
The savings or current account must be maintained with a financial institution located in Malaysia that offers MEPS Inter-Bank GIRO (IBG) service. Participating institutions include Maybank, CIMB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, UOB Bank, HSBC Bank, and Public Bank, among others. A complete list of IBG-participating institutions is available on the following website.
Bank account details and related information are used solely to enable payments to be credited directly into the client's bank account. This information is protected under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA) 1989, which strictly prohibits its disclosure to any party unless the customer or their personal representative has given written permission. By signing the relevant form to provide bank account information, clients authorise its disclosure to parties necessary to effect payment, such as financial institutions.
Only one bank account can be registered per trading account with UOBKH.
Step 1: Obtain a copy of the Customer Maintenance Update Form from our Customer Service or your Dealer's Representative.
Step 2: Complete the form and submit it back to UOBKH together with the necessary supporting documents.
The following supporting documents are required:
If the same bank account is already registered for e-Dividend, these supporting documents are waived.
UOBKH activates the e-Payment service within three (3) business days of receiving the completed form with all supporting documents. A business day refers to a day on which UOBKH is open for business.
Payment is made electronically into the client's designated bank account on T+2, provided there are no outstanding losses or purchases. Funds are generally available in the bank account within the same day of payment, though actual timing may vary depending on the receiving bank's processes.
The client's bank sends an email and/or SMS notification once payment has been received from UOBKH.
There are two conditions to be aware of:
Although uncommon, e-Payment transactions may fail under the following circumstances (not exhaustive):
If funds cannot be credited electronically for reasons that may include but are not limited to the circumstances above, UOBKH will, upon confirmation from its bank of the failed transaction, contact the client to validate bank account details and/or rectify the issue, then credit the designated bank account electronically the next day. UOBKH may, at its discretion, remit payment via cheque in lieu of e-Payment.
Step 1: Complete the Customer Maintenance Update Form with your new designated bank account details.
Step 2: Submit it to UOBKH together with a verified photocopy of the new bank account's latest statement or passbook.
Note: No cost is charged for this service.
Payment via cheque may be requested on an ad hoc basis by informing the Finance Department through a Dealer's Representative by 4:00 pm on T+2.
The e-Payment service can be revoked at any time by completing the Customer Maintenance Update Form and submitting it to UOBKH.
UOBKH reserves the right to revise, amend, vary, and/or modify the e-Payment service and its terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice.
